About Us

Locko Amateur Dramatic Society (the LADS) was founded in 1990 by a small group of local Spondon residents who wanted to bring quality theatre to the local community.

Our first production was ‘Fool’s Paradise’ and since then, the we have performed over 50 plays, ranging from comedy to tragedy, drama to farce, to murder mystery evenings.

For 12 years we performed at The Women’s Institute, Spondon before moving on to St Alban’s Parish Hall, Chaddesden, with our performance of ‘Ghost Train’.  After a year we moved to pastures new, and Spondon Village Hall became our ‘theatre’.

However, after nearly 23 years at Spondon Village Hall, we are now moving to a new performance venue.  Don’t worry, we’re not going far, because we want to take you, our valued audience, with us on our next venture.
